WHY ARE YOU HERE?

"...that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light."  I Peter 2:9

They tell me I came from a random process in time, plus matter, plus chance.

Just a glob of cells that randomly mutated into what we call humans today.  Well, at least that's what the so called "experts" tell me.

No reason, no purpose, no plan.  Just chance.  A lot of chance.

The funny thing is, when you start to live this way no one seems to like it.  Try approaching your neighbor and punching them in the face and you'll find yourself locked-up.  Or, drive drunk, have an accident and kill someone, and find out there are consequences. How does a glob of cells know right from wrong and want justice?

Who programmed these cells to know this is wrong?

The fact is, no one really lives like they are just a glob of cells, with no reason, purpose, or plan. We all make plans and look for purpose in life.

why am I here? What is the purpose of life?

The Bible says "God formed the man of the dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living soul." Genesis 2:7.  This has huge implications, it means my deep desire for love, satisfaction, joy, peace

fulfillment, come from the fact that human life is not just a compilation of cells but God has given us an eternal soul,

and these deep desires can only be met through God Himself.

The Bible also says "[God] has put eternity in their hearts." Ecclesiastes 3:11.

what does that mean?

Well, simply put, our hearts are made for something outside time, matter and space, something you will never find in this world.

So what's the solution?

We need a relationship with the eternal God in order to fill our eternal soul.  Sin has separated us from God, so we must be brought back to Him.  At that moment we are clean before God, the separation is gone, we are made new creatures, and God comes to dwell in us.  Yes, you read that right, God actually takes up residence in your body, and fills us with His life.

Is that a big enough purpose for you?

That you can enjoy the very life of God Himself; the love, joy, satisfaction, peace and fulfillment, that can only be found in Him.

It's no wonder the Bible says, "you are complete in Him." Colossians 2:10.

So please, don't settle for unfulfilling lies, deceptions of the devil, or ideas from peoples wild imagination; of how you are just a glob of cells with no reason purpose or plan; except to party hard and then die.  God's design and intent for your life has unending, unmeasurable, meaning and purpose.

"You knitted me together in my mother's womb.  I praise you for I am…wonderfully made…How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!  How vast is the some of them!  If I would count them, they are more than the sand."  Psalms 139:13,14&17,18.
