You've Selected... NO

You are absolutely right. In fact, no one deserves to go to heaven.  God requires absolute perfection in his presence in his heavenly home, and certainly none of us has a completely prefect track record.  We have all failed somewhere in some facet of our life. The Bible says, "They have all turned aside; together they have become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one." Psalms 14:3  But thankfully, God actually wants us to come to heaven when our life is over and be with him through the endless ages of eternity.

So, God created a plan.  God sent his Son to earth so people could be made perfect allowing them to come into God’s presence in heaven after they die.

Here’s how the plan played out: around two thousand years ago, during the time when the Romans ruled, Jesus, God’s Son, came to earth. He lived a perfect life serving the people around him.  The prominent religious rulers of the time were extremely jealous of his popularity with the common people, so they held a fraudulent court case with false charges, found him guilty and had him executed by Roman crucifixion.

During the time Jesus was hanging on the cross, God punished him for our sins. In otherwards, he went through the process that allows God to see us as perfect.  To gain access to heaven, we must recognize that we are repulsive in God’s sight because of our imperfections. The Bible says, "We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment..." Isaiah 64:6 We must ask for his forgiveness and believe that through the death of Jesus and his shed blood we can be made perfectly clean.  Then we, undeservingly and because of God’s love and grace, can enter heaven and enjoy God’s company through the endless ages of eternity.

Of course, we can decide to reject God’s plan that gives us access to heaven. But the result is overwhelmingly devastating. Specifically, it is spending the endless ages of eternity without God, with his enemies in the lake of fire.

The choice is yours.  Choose heaven.

“So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come out and separate the evil from the righteous and throw them into the fiery furnace. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Matthew 13:49-50
