wages of sin

When you work you incur an obligation on your employer. The employer relieves this by paying you money and this we call wages.

If you sin against God, you incur an obligation on God as the one who made and now maintains the universe in righteousness to judge you. The judgement for sin against God is death. It is God's mercy that we do not die immediately as the scripture says in Lamentations 3:22, "It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not." But we do all eventually die because we all sin.

The Gift of God

God extends our lives not so that we can sin more (though we do), but that we might have time to accept His freely offered gift. God sent his only begotten Son to become a man named Jesus and to go and die on a cross for the sins of the world.

God has determined that if ones will confess that they are what they are - sinners deserving of death - and if they will trust in Jesus, He will forgive them. The judgement that was due to them fell instead on Jesus, and you can go free. This is the gift of God - eternal life because of Jesus Christ.

Your call...

It is very hard isn't it to confess that you are a sinner deserving of the judgement of God? But who can deny that they have sinned? God is the one who determines the judgement for sin and from the beginning He has determined that death is the result of sin and beyond death a second death - eternal separation from God.

But you can bow to God, accept that you are a sinner and accept the gift of God by putting your faith in Jesus Christ.

What to do?

If you want to respond to Jesus and put your trust in Him there are three things you can do right now....

  1. Close your eyes and either aloud or in your mind tell God that you want to trust Him.

  2. Listen for a response.

  3. If there is no response, click this LINK and start reading the book of Mark.

  4. Reach out to us at the link below. We are real people and will do our best to answer as soon as we can when we see a text from you.
