Psalm 34:8
“oh taste and see that the lord is good: blessed is the man that trusts in him"

taste
You cannot taste Jesus with your tongue...but you can with your mind and your heart!

Why don't you try it right now?

Think about taking a chocolate truffle savoring it in your mouth...in the same way read the following verses about Jesus and close your eyes and consider them in your mind and heart.

-
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son [Jesus], that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. - John 3:16

-
"Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know— this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men." - Acts 2:22

-
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” She said to him, “Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who is coming into the world.” - John 11:25-27

the lord is good
Have you ever considered what it meant for the Son of God (Jesus) to become a man? We celebrate this every Christmas...but think of what it meant for the Son of God to be born in a stable - to feel cold, pain, sorrow, loneliness, and hunger. Why would Jesus do that?

Jesus said once, "the Son of man came to seek and to save that which was lost" - Luke 19:10

Jesus came then...for me!

All the sorrow of this world...the death, disease, and famine the Lord Jesus came and cured. He raised the dead, healed the sick, and gave food to the poor. He "went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him" - Acts 10:38

If Jesus had been left here He had promised to rid the world of these things and eventually destroy death itself "The last enemy to be destroyed is death." - 1 Corinthians 15:26

But Jesus was not left here...man crucified the Lord Jesus and killed Him. Hence, the sorrow, death, and pain that He alone could heal as God has remained with us to this day.

bLESSED IS THE truster...
Jesus was raised from the dead by the power of God because He was perfectly righteous. Jesus then ascended to heaven without abolishing sin and death, leaving people to the destiny that they chose.

But He still loves His people and so has made two promises:

-
He is going to come back and judge the world in righteousness

-
Those who put their trust in Him will be rewarded with heaven. Those who do not will be punished for their sins in hell.
He also explains in the Bible how the death and resurrection of Jesus were planned long before. It doesn't make it less wicked for the people who did it, but it proves the power of God as it says in Hebrews 2:14-15 "through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery."

So Jesus came down from heaven...to die...for you. He loves you and wants you to repent and put your trust in Him.

What to do?
If you want to respond to Jesus and put your trust in Him there are three things you can do right now....

-
Close your eyes and either aloud or in your mind tell God that you want to trust Him.
-
Listen for a response.
